Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Collaborate with business partners and cross-functional teams to identify and clearly define business requirements
  • Work with the business partners to analyze the value proposition of business requests and provide alternative solutions, as needed to ensure we stay consistently focused on the product strategy
  • Clearly articulate product strategy and manage business partners’ expectations accordingly
  • Write user stories and epics
  • Support the maintenance and prioritization of product backlog
  • Support the definition of business justification and lean business case
  • Participate in daily standups, planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate, partner and coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, QA, and product leadership) to streamline product features and enhance business processes
  • Support user feature testing as needed
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Support definition of User Acceptance Test (UAT) Scripts
  • Coordinate launch preparation with business partners and cross-functional delivery teams
  • Document system processes, user guides, and training materials on product features where needed
  • Partner with engineering and program managers to implement solutions aligned with the product strategy and Content Platforms’ strategic objectives
  • Exhibit natural and intuitive user empathy
  • Support any other activities / duties to help achieve business objectives

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology related fields, such as Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar field
  • 3+ year of product management experience, preferably in a digital environment
  • Demonstrate strong product understanding and platform familiarity
  • Self-starter and can work independently with limited supervision
  • Demonstrate strong presentation skills and an ability to clearly communicate goals, status, and issues
  • Demonstrate strong technical writing skills
  • Demonstrate an ability to derive actionable insights or alternative solutions through research
  • Demonstrate an ability to craft and validate small problems
  • Efficiently support experimentation execution and analysis
  • Demonstrate an understanding of business modeling and analysis via a structured cost/benefit analysis
  • Demonstrate an understanding and ability to gather requirements, write and prioritize user stories
  • Demonstrate an ability to adjust and pivot as business strategy and product priorities shifts
  • Clear understanding of development process, methodologies, and tools
  • Demonstrate an ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • Demonstrate ability to interact with all levels of stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure or experience with Agile development tools, such as Jira and Confluence
  • Prior work experience in title metadata and/or descriptive metadata management and localization
  • Knowledge of or experience in media & entertainment industry
  • Enthusiasm and interests in Disney brands
  • Understanding of media production workflows, digital video workflows, or consumer-facing video product features
  • Media background preferred
  • Change management expertise
