Job Description

Assist with departmental negotiations/ preferred pricing agreements with top vendors and contract translators on an ongoing basis, as required, including assessing scope of translation projects and services, vendor linguistic/translation capabilities; Create and update translation project instructions and TransPerfect’s Standard Operating Procedures documentation to ensure processes are accurately and formally documented; Facilitate, organize, and lead trainings/presentations related to the following goals: improve vendor performance, address client concerns and training requirements, instruct regarding new translation project processes and tools as needed; Collaborate and liaise with internal teams including Production, Company Health, PD Production, QA, AP etc. to continuously develop efficient translation project workflows to help with Linguists retention, training, and quality trends; Create action items and workflows to utilize data analytics and trending for early identification of performance issues, visibility into total external costs, dormant vendors, and language/client health; Attend trade shows and conferences as needed; Consult / liaise with department manager on special projects and data evaluation on a case-by-case basis, as required; and Resolve any and all vendor related issues and disputes that arise including but not limited to: Compensation, technology requirements, workload/hours, communication, accounting fees, payment terms, payment delays, and unsuitable job offers.


Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, International Affairs or a related field, plus 2 years of experience in the translation industry.  Experience may be gained concurrently and must include the following:

2 years’ experience in a commercial translation and localization services company. 2 years’ experience with translation project management for one or more high profile multi-million dollar client. 1 year experience in managing vendor relations. 1 year of vendor rate negotiation experience. 1 year experience in translation industry with knowledge of leading translation companies and their competitive data, proposal formats, competitive rates, and marketing strategies to source/evaluate contract Linguists. Must score 80% on both Phase 1 and Phase 2 Final-Eye tests.
