About L10n

The standard hidden in our name.

We are independent language professionals, immigration paralegals, and technical auditors. We have no translation business to protect and no provider relationships to maintain. We have only a reputation for accuracy.

"Translation so thorough it passes without a second glance at USCIS. That is the standard hidden in our name."
L10n: L · 10 letters · n = Localization

L10n is the professional shorthand for Localization — the comprehensive adaptation of content for a specific legal and cultural locale. The standard used by the world's largest technology firms and the standard USCIS demands.

The Problem We Solve

Why immigration requires a different standard.

A birth certificate translated for a US green card application is not a general document. It must be certified with specific federal language, use USCIS naming conventions, and preserve 1:1 formatting. One wrong word triggers a Request for Evidence. One formatting error fails the review.

The internet made it easy to find "certified translation." It did not make it easy to verify whether that certification would actually hold up at USCIS. That is the gap L10n was built to close.

How We Work

Our research process, step by step.

Step 01
Anonymous purchase
We order translations from every provider under aliases. The provider has no idea they are being evaluated. The result is genuine performance data, not curated samples.
Step 02
8-point compliance audit
Each sample is scored across our published criteria — legal phrasing, ATA verification, format fidelity, delivery time, pricing transparency, data handling.
Step 03
RFE data correlation
We cross-reference audit scores against 24 months of real USCIS RFE outcomes linked to specific providers. Scores and RFE rates are updated monthly.
Step 04
Published, challengeable results
Every ranking and score is published with full criteria breakdown. Any provider can submit documented evidence to challenge their rating.
Scoring Criteria

The 8-point integrity framework

These are the exact criteria applied to every provider in our database. Each criterion is independently scored and publicly documented. Nothing is subjective — every point is traceable to a verifiable data source.

Criterion 01 · Weight: 25%

8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) Legal Phrasing

The exact certification statement required by federal immigration regulation. We verify word-for-word that the required language appears on every delivered document.

  • · Correct competency declaration
  • · Translator full name and signature
  • · Date of certification
  • · Statement of accuracy and completeness
Criterion 02 · Weight: 20%

ATA Credential Verification

Claimed ATA memberships are cross-referenced directly against the official ATA member directory.

  • · Active ATA membership status
  • · Correct member ID on documentation
  • · Immigration specialization if claimed
Criterion 03 · Weight: 20%

24-Month RFE Outcome Tracking

Our live database tracks USCIS Request for Evidence outcomes over a rolling 24-month window. Updated monthly.

  • · Verified RFE submissions from applicants
  • · Provider-attributed formatting errors
  • · Certification language failures documented
Criterion 04 · Weight: 10%

Turnaround Latency (Measured)

Actual delivery time from confirmed purchase — not advertised estimate. Measured during peak filing cycles.

  • · Measured from purchase confirmation
  • · Peak-cycle performance included
  • · Rush order reliability tested
Criterion 05 · Weight: 10%

Fee Transparency

We compare quoted price against final invoice to identify hidden notarization fees and post-purchase surcharges.

  • · Quote vs. final invoice comparison
  • · Hidden notarization fee screening
  • · Rush surcharge disclosure check
Criterion 06 · Weight: 8%

Format Fidelity (1:1 Preservation)

USCIS requires the translated document to visually mirror the original. We verify all field positions and layout.

  • · Side-by-side layout comparison
  • · Field label accuracy
  • · Numbering and date format compliance
Criterion 07 · Weight: 5%

US Business Registration

Georgia state registration is confirmed as active through official state registry databases.

  • · Georgia SOS database verification
  • · Active status confirmation
  • · Registered agent confirmed
Criterion 08 · Weight: 2%
